Zinchenko speaks about Mudryk rejecting Arsenal at England face Ukraine

Mykhailo Mudryk was the victim of a January transfer saga between Chelsea and Arsenal after which the Ukrainian chose the Blues. In the meanwhile, fellow Ukrainian Oleksandr Zinchenko signed for the Gunners.

In the winter window, Chelsea beat Arsenal to sign Mudryk for £89m, however, the Blues have struggled to climb up the table. Meanwhile, Zinchenko has proved to be a true leader at the back and has inspired the Gunners to put up a title challenge.

What did Zinchenko have to say?

“I told him, ‘It’s gone already, it doesn’t matter what you wanted, what the other guys wanted’,” Zinchenko told the Daily Mail.

“Now you’re a Chelsea player, you signed a long-term contract and you have only one option, only one way: direct and forward. Unfortunately, he didn’t become an Arsenal player – as I wanted personally! – but it’s life.”
