Young NFL Player Jalen Hurd Calls It Quits at 27, Despite Patriots Signing

A young football player, Jalen Hurd, who recently joined the New England Patriots, has decided to retire from the game, surprising everyone. Even though he showed some great skills during the Patriots’ practice this week, he’s choosing to end his football career.

According to Mike Riess of ESPN, the former 49ers were placed on the reserve/retired list on Tuesday. It is a big decision for Hurd, as it was his chance to play in the nation’s biggest league. However, he hasn’t disclosed the reason for his early retirement at such a young age.

The 27-year-old used to play college football at Tennessee, where he was the starting running back. Then, he moved to Baylor, where he switched to being a wide receiver. That change worked out well, and he had an impressive season, gaining nearly 1,000 yards.

In 2019, the San Francisco 49ers drafted him in the third round. His rookie season looked promising, but he suffered from several injuries that kept him from playing in any regular-season games. Sadly, this pattern continued for three seasons, and he ended up on the injured reserve each year.

Now, Hurd has decided to retire from football altogether, leaving behind his dream of playing in the NFL.
