Yankees Reaction To Their Pitcher Suspension For Remainder MLB Season
On Wednesday MLB Commissioner announced the suspension of the New York Yankees pitcher Jimmy Cordero for the remainder season under the league’s domestic violence policy.
After the official announcement came from the MLB office, the Yankees responded to the suspension of Jimmy Cordero.
The team said in a press release, “The Yankees are fully supportive of Major League Baseball’s investigative process and the disciplinary action applied to Jimmy Cordero,”
Continued with, “There is no justification for domestic violence, and we stand with the objectives, standards, and enforcement of MLB’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy.”

31-year-old right-hander Cordero has been put on the restricted list and will not be paid or counted against the Yankees 40-man roster. According to Spotrac Jimmy forfeits $340,648. This is Corder’s first season with the Yankees.
Through 31 game appearances this season, he recorded 34 strikeouts and a 3.86 ERA. Jimmy Cordero accepted his suspension letter.
