WWE Superstars broke Characters on TV

WWE gives a character/gimmick to the wrestlers which they perform and act in front of the WWE Universe. But, there are sometimes when wrestlers can’t hold in their character and break it on tv. For example, After their match at WrestleMania 28, Undertaker decided to come out of his character and show support to Triple H (his match opponent), and then three of them (Taker, HHH, and HBK) hugged on the stage before going backstage.

Let’s look at the times when WWE Superstars broke their characters on tv:

Undertaker (During Ric Flair’s farewell speech)

On Monday Night Raw (March 31, 2008) in Orlando, Florida, Ric Flair’s farewell segment opens up and one by one all WWE Superstars comes out to show respect to Nature Boy. Triple H said that he is proud to work with him and he is and will be his mentor forever. And, then the bell dongs and lights go out and Undertaker makes his way to the ring and removed his long coat and hat, and then sat down in his iconic one-leg pose to show his respect and give tribute to Ric Flair and then raises his hand above to show everyone in the crowd that he is a winner always and both of them hugged each.

Brock Lesnar and Undertaker (During their match at SummerSlam 2015)

Brock Lesnar breaks The Undertaker’s Undefeated Streak at WrestleMania 30. After that, Taker attacked Lesnar after Lesnar’s match at Battleground 2015 and then asks for his rematch at SummerSlam which lesnar accepted. Taker and Lesnar were fighting head-to-head in their match and during their match, the taker hits his finishing move tombstone to lesnar and then tried to secure a victory which lesnar rejected, and then both sit up and laughed (as you can see above).

Brock Lesnar (During R-truth’s interference)

During Monday Night Raw in January 2020, R-truth interferes during the mic segment of Brock Lesnar (w/ Paul Heyman) and comes out with his 24/7 Championship title to announce that he will be fighting in this year’s Royal Rumble match and then asks WWE Universe What’s up? which made lesnar and heyman laugh in the ring and lesnar attacked and threw him out of the ring.

Bloodline (During Roman & Theory’s Mic Segment)

Austin Theory (current WWE US Champion) interferes the bloodline and tribal chief roman reigns during their mic segment. Then roman said something which left the rest of the bloodline laughing. roman said to theory, “Daddy’s not here anymore” which left theory speechless, he jumped out of the ring and the whole stadium starts the chants “Daddy’s not here…..”.

Triple H (During Survivor Series Match)

During a match between Team Authority and Team Cena, the Leader of Authority (Triple H & Stephanie Mcmahon) was at ringside when a little fan starts calling hhh and he just decided to break his character and he smiled and hugged that little fan.
