Why RGIII Believes Jets Won’t Sign Kaepernick or Himself to Replace Injured Rodgers (VIDEO)
Once again the New York Jets are in need of a new QB for the team after Aaron Rodgers left the team. The former Bay Packers quarterback injured his Achilles during his first game with the team. This happened when he was tackled by Buffalo Bills defensive end Leonard Floyd on Monday night.
Now that Zach Wilson is the starting quarterback for the rest of the season, the Jets want to bring in another experienced player. They have several options, as there are many free agents available, including Cam Newton, Carson Wentz, Joe Flaco, Matt Ryan, Colin Kaepernick, and Robert Griffin III.
Kap’s agent has already reached out to the team, however, RGIII has ruled several of them, including himself, out of the running as he claims that they won’t be signed because they would be distractions.
“It’s not that we can’t play the game anymore, it’s that we’re a big distraction if you bring us in,” the former Commanders, Browns, and Ravens quarterback said on ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ on Tuesday.
“I had a general manager tell me this offseason, ‘Hey man, I know you can still play, you look like you can still play, but if we bring you in it’s going to be a distraction for our starting quarterback.’”

RGIII hasn’t been in the NFL since 2020, while Kap has been away from the game even longer, not playing since the 2016 NFL season.
