Why Did Dak Prescott Get Sedated for 11 Hours?
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott found himself asleep for a really long time this spring—11 hours to be exact. But it wasn’t because of a medical emergency. He was on a mission to get a massive leg tattoo all at once.
In his own words, Prescott said, “People are gonna think its crazy and it is crazy. I get that. But I’m crazy. That’s my point is I am. I know I am. I’m not afraid of nothing.”
Now, let’s talk about Dak Prescott’s new tattoo. It’s not just any tattoo; it’s a tribute to Prescott’s late brother, Jace, who sadly took his own life three years ago. Plus, there’s a picture of a majestic Pegasus to honor his late mom, Peggy.
But that’s not all. This artwork is like a colorful storybook. It’s got a Black Mamba, that’s a tribute to Kobe Bryant; a Jumpman logo, that’s Michael Jordan’s iconic symbol; even Daffy Duck makes an appearance, and of course, you can’t forget the Dallas skyline.

What’s intriguing is that Prescott didn’t tell his head coach, Mike McCarthy, or the team owner, Jerry Jones, about this tattoo extravaganza until it was a done deal.
Jerry Jones, the Cowboys’ owner, was pretty shocked. He admitted while talking to Fort Worth Star-Telegram, “I certainly didn’t know he was under for 10 hours. Just so you’re clear, I had no idea about tattoos. I better get up to date on it. I had no idea that required that kind of sedation of any tattoo. It further explains to me why I don’t have a tattoo.”
Now, here’s the good news: Despite this long tattoo adventure, Prescott is feeling fantastic as the Cowboys gear up for Week 1.
