The Miami Heat is in desperate need to get their hands on a star player like Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal this summer. Their performance was fine in the NBA playoffs and they even made it to the Finals, which surprised a lot of people. Everyone agrees that the Heat has what it takes to compete for the championship. But right now, they need another star player to join Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo.

According to the rumors in the basketball world, the Miami Heat is also one of four teams interested in trading with the Washington Wizards for Bradley Beal. As for Damian Lillard, there haven’t been as many rumors about him joining the Heat because his trade situation is a bit uncertain.

If the Miami Heat could choose, who would they prefer between Damian Lillard and Bradley Beal? We got an answer to that question this week. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, if given the chance, the Heat would prefer Damian Lillard. Former Miami Herald sportswriter Barry Jackson also confirmed this idea.

“As [Stein] said, Lillard would be Heat preference over Beal,” he wrote.

“But Lillard simply isn’t ready to ask out of Portland. And if he eventually does [and] doesn’t beg Blazers to send him only to Miami, [Brooklyn] Nets in a better position than Heat with 11 tradable firsts, including 9 unprotected.”

A few days ago, it was revealed that Bradley Beal has a preference for which team he would like to join. However, we will have to wait and see if he actually gets to go there. Damian Lillard has been very clear with the Portland Trail Blazers that if they don’t make moves to become championship contenders with the No. 3 pick in this year’s draft, he would prefer to be traded to another team.

There is a team that is currently the favorite to get Lillard if he is traded, but of course, Portland hopes it doesn’t come to that.

Let’s wait and see if Miami Heat ends up getting either Beal or Lillard before the start of the next season.
