Shaquille O’Neal showed his desire to play the role of Iron Man from the 1997 movie “Steel.”
Shaquille O’Neal, a four-time NBA champion and sports analyst, possesses many talents. He has mostly been into being a basketball analyst after his retirement. Aside from that, the player is well-known for his acting and DJing abilities. He has played 74 different roles in his career, and one of his most famous movies is “Steel” (1997).
Shaq said that he would love to remake the movie.
He talked about the Iron Man effects and how to work on them with today’s technology.
Shaq’s Desire To Redo The Role
“When we did the movie, I would have liked to have those Iron Man effects,” O’Neal said regarding his movie. “But nah, we did the movie in the early ’90s, and technology wasn’t as it is now, but I would love to be able to do a redo of that.”
“If you look at the Steel character, it’s me,” O’Neal said, commenting on the lack of special effects in the movie. “It’s all me, John Henry Irons is me.”
It shows how Shaq’s sentiments are attached to some of the roles he has played in his acting career.
The movie did not receive good reviews and was a box office flop. IMDb rated it. 2.9 out of 10. He stated that the film’s remake will perform better. And there is a high chance that the movie will do better since technology has advanced a lot since the 1990s.
He was a remarkable basketball player back then and has worked on some successful movies like “Grown Ups” and “The Wash.”
