When are Tiger Woods and Charlie Woods teeing off together next?

Tiger Woods and his 14-year-old son, Charlie, will play in this year’s PNC Championship together. After months of suspense, the duo announced their participation in the 36-hole tournament. The father-son team will now compete in the event for the fourth year in a row.

The 2023 PNC Championship will be held on December 16-17, 2023, at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida. The event, which comprises major championship players and their families, is currently Tiger’s lone appearance in the previous three years. Despite being hampered by ailments, the great golfer manages to play with his kid every year.

In a statement provided by the tournament, Tiger Woods said about the event:

“It is an amazing gift to be able to share my love of golf with Charlie.”

At the tournament, Tiger and Charlie will face other major player-relative duos. In Florida, the Woods brothers will meet Lee Trevino, Padraig Harrington, Justin Thomas, John Daly, Vijay Singh, Nelly Korda, Annika Sorenstam, and Tom Lehman.

Tiger is also expected to compete in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas next week. With the PGA Tour great missing most of the last two seasons owing to injuries to his lower right leg and foot incurred in the notorious February 2021 automobile collision, it will be intriguing to watch how he performs in competitive tournaments.

Tiger and Charlie Woods compete in the PNC Championship.

In 2020, the Woods father-son combo made their PNC Championship debut. They haven’t missed a single event since. Because of their similarities on the golf course, the great and his son quickly became fan favorites during the tournament. Many admirers believe Charlie plays golf like a miniature Tiger Woods.’

It’s worth noting that neither Tiger nor Charlie has won the PNC Championship. Despite being the favorites on several occasions, they have consistently fallen short of the Willie Park Trophy. Every year, the duo finished in the top ten. In 2021, they shot a final-round 57 in the scramble format, which was their highest score. However, they were defeated by John Daly and his son, John Daly II, by two strokes.

Despite their constant defeats, Tiger enjoys playing with Charlie. The 15-time major winner famously described playing with his son as “indescribable.”

The PGA Tour cited Tiger Woods as stating during a press conference following the 2020 PNC Championship:

“I don’t think there are words to describe it.” Just the fact that Charlie and I were able to share this event. It’s memories to last a lifetime… I’m proud of whatever path the kid (Charlie) takes, whether he stays in the game or not. That was one of the things we made certain of. Charlie was just Charlie.”

Tiger Woods is eager to get back on the course. Last month, the five-time Masters champion was sighted at the Florida Golf Club with his son Charlie. Despite his injury, the ace golfer appeared to be practicing.
