Warriors Might Re-Sign Draymond Green for NBA 2023-24
Draymond Green, a professional player in NBA is now an unrestricted free agent who still hasn’t decided which team he will be joining. He recently declined his $27.5 million player option for the 2023-24 NBA season this week and now is up to consider every option available for him for the upcoming NBA season. This might be his only chance to get a big money payday.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, an ESPN NBA insider, Green hasn’t made a decision yet about whether he wants to continue playing for the Golden State Warriors or not.
“I think there’s certainly a desire on both sides to stay together. They want each other,” Wojnarowski said.
“I think (for) Draymond Green, the idea of continuing with Steph Curry and with Klay Thompson and certainly (head coach) Steve Kerr, I think it means the world to him. It’s just a matter of negotiation. Is it a four-year deal? Is it a three-year deal?”
In a recent interview on NBA Today, Marc J. Spears provided valuable insight into Green’s perspective and mindset.
“I talked to him after the last game,” Spears said.
“And here was this quote that gave me that stood out. He said, ‘I’ve been here 11 years, you don’t just up and change that. The guys that I started with are still here. Of course, I’d love to be here but I do understand that this is a business.’”
Green has been quite open about his future over the past few months.
Green will prioritize his own best interests, regardless of the situation. It could mean staying with the Warriors or exploring other options.
The question of where Green will be playing at the start of the 2023-24 NBA season will be answered soon.
