Ascent Map Site ‘A’
The in-game map for Ascent is provided above, which includes most of the basic callouts. However, there are a few site-specific callouts missing from this overlay that you should be aware of, along with some tips for attacking and defending each site. For Ascent’s A site, it’s crucial to know the basic callout locations, such as Outside of the Generator and the bricks next to the Green Box. It’s important to note that most of these surfaces are flammable, including the divider between Heaven and Hell. Additionally, there are a few other A-related callouts that you should be familiar with.

Tips and Tricks for Ascent Map Site ‘A’
When attacking Ascent’s A site, it’s essential to cut off the defenders’ ability to peek from corners in Heaven, Hell, and behind Door during a site take. The best way to accomplish this is by using smokes or a Viper wall, or by relying on flashes to move from A main into the site. As soon as you gain control of the site, you should close the door to cut off a retake angle from the defenders, forcing them to break it and reveal their position. If you’re sitting in the corner, you can start spamming through smoke once the door breaks.
Defending Ascent’s A site is relatively straightforward as it’s easy to set up crossfire placements. You can position players behind Door, behind Pillar, behind Generator, in Hell, or by Bricks. Timing your peeks when attackers enter the site should ensure trades and make it challenging for them to take control.
When it comes to retaking the site, the best approach is to come through Heaven and cut off the A main entrance with smoke if possible. It’s also a good idea to clear out Hell first, possibly using wall-bang spams into hiding spots.
Ascent Map Site ‘B’
These are the essential callout locations you should know for Ascent’s B site. Like the A site, several of these surfaces are flammable. In-game, the spot the player is standing in during the second screengrab is technically called Boathouse, but most players refer to it as Back Site.
Tips and Tricks for Ascent Map Site ‘B’
Similar to the A site, attackers on Ascent’s B site should focus on blocking off defender retreat angles through the CT/Defender Spawn entrance and the Market door to gain control of B Lane or Workshop. The use of flash, grenades, or Molotov abilities can then help clear out hiding spots such as Wallbang, Double Box, and Back Site. In post-plants, smokes on both B Lane and B Stairs can force retakers to play aggressively, exposing them to crossfire.
On defense, it is important to maintain control of the B main entrance, which can be achieved using recon abilities like Sova’s drone, Skye’s dogs, or KAY/O’s knife. This provides the opportunity to use the infamous wall-bang spot from B Lane into the B main entrance to take out attackers. During retakes, attackers tend to hide in Back Site, so potential lurkers in B main or Market should be cleared out first. Spamming the Wallbang spot and Double Box can also be effective.
For Ascent as a whole, controlling mid is crucial. For attackers, this allows for a double-pronged attack on any site or planting a lurker in the defender spawn to flank the enemy team. Defenders can use mid to gather information and push up to Mid Top or Mid Link to determine which site the attackers are heading to, allowing for quick rotations and stacking up.
