Valheim is Available on Xbox Game Pass with Crossplay Support

Valheim, the popular early-access survival game, has finally arrived on Xbox through Game Pass. The game was initially released on PC in February 2021 and has since gained a massive following due to its unique gameplay mechanics and Viking-themed world. The Xbox version of Valheim includes crossplay, allowing players to connect and play with others regardless of whether they are playing on Steam or Game Pass for PC.

Enabling Crossplay on Valheim

Enabling crossplay is easy, as players only need to go to the game’s settings and turn it on. Once done, they can play with other players, no matter which platform they are on. The Xbox port is available for purchase on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S for £15.49 for those who do not have Game Pass.

Unclear Release Date for Full Version

Despite the game’s launch on Xbox, it is still technically in early access, and it remains unclear when the game will receive a full release. Launching on a new platform often requires some tweaking, which might take some time away from developing the full release. Console Ports and Exclusivity

Valheim was previously touted as an Xbox “console launch exclusive,” meaning that Microsoft would enjoy exclusivity during the early access period. After this period ends, the developers will have the freedom to launch the game on PS4 and PS5 if they wish. Unfortunately, this means that Sony fans will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the game. However, they can take comfort in the fact that the game should be completed once it’s released on the PlayStation consoles.
