Utah Jazz star Karl Malone addresses negative reactions for impregnating a 13-year-old girl when he was 20
After the NBA allowed Utah Jazz great and Hall of Famer Karl Malone to take part in the All-Star festivities, it underwent scrutiny. The All-Star festivities will be in Salt City which will be happening over the weekend. When Malone was 20 years old, he impregnated a 13-year-old girl.
All the allegations were revived when Malone made his presence. He did not give detail of the incident whatsoever. According to the Salt Lake City Tribune, Malone said,
“I’m not discussing any of that. I don’t care. That’s my life, it’s my personal life, and I’ll deal with that like I’ve had to deal with everything. So… whatever.”
The incident:
In 1983, when Malone was in his sophomore year at Louisiana Tech, this incident took place. He referred to the girl as his girlfriend, Gloria Bell. Although, Bell’s family did not make any rape charges against Malone they did file a paternity suit. All the accusations were denied by Malone, but the matter was settled outside of the court. Demetress Bell, Bell’s son, was a left tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles and Buffalo Bills.
In an interview Bell defended Malone and told them that the two are best friends now, thereby saving him from any criticism that would emerge.
