USWNT’s Alex Morgan Shares Joy as Team Clinches 3-0 Win Against Vietnam
The United States Women’s National Team (USWNT) kicked off their 2023 World Cup campaign on Friday with an exciting match against Vietnam. Even though they were considered the favorites, the team faced some challenges early on in the game. However, young talent Sophia Smith lifted the spirits of the team and fans alike by scoring an impressive goal in the 14th minute.
As the first half approached its end, Sophia struck again during extra time, giving the USWNT a comfortable 2-0 lead. Unfortunately, a penalty kick by Alex Morgan was blocked, but she remained positive and expressed her happiness about the team’s victory on Twitter. She praised her teammate Sophia Smith as “THAT girl” and lauded the collective effort in securing the win.

With great teamwork and determination, the USWNT sealed the game with a convincing 3-0 triumph, thanks to a goal from Lindsay Horan in the 77th minute.
