USC Post Heartfelt Message In Memory Of Legend C.R. Roberts Dies At 87
Legendary USC Trojans running back C.R. Roberts died at the age of 87.
Former 49ers Roberts died from natural causes at a care facility in suburban Norwalk. Roberts is known for helping break the color barrier within the Los Angeles program.
USC Trojans posted a heartfelt tribute on their official Twitter account.
“#FightOnForever, C.R. Roberts. The @uscfb legend and @USC_Athletics Hall of Famer was best known for breaking through racist barriers in segregated Texas to run for a record-setting 251 yards and 3 TDs against the Longhorns in 1956. He died on Tuesday at the age of 87,”

Roberts, best known for his career game against Texas, went on to play in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers.
