During his first season with the team, the Gators lost three games, including a bad 30-22 road loss to South Carolina, which had Meyers questioning his job security afterward.
In the upcoming Netflix series Untold is set to release on Tuesday 22nd August, Meyer talks about his fears of losing his job. He said,
“After that loss at South Carolina, I walk into this restaurant in Gainesville, Florida and they boo me … they boo me.”
He continued, “People started to question me as a leader and to say that I lost my confidence … I certainly lost my confidence. I’ve never had that much doubt. I thought there’s a decent chance this one’s over.”
However, Urban Meyer came out of his fear and regained his confidence which further led him to two national championships for the Gators before he joined the LSU college Football team.
Myers also compiled a 65-15 coaching record (.813) during his time at Florida.
