23 years old Brock Purdy, a rookie QB for the San Francisco 49ers, suffered a terrible blow when he tore his UCL during Sunday’s NF Ctitle game in Philadelphia. He acknowledges that no choice has been taken over how to treat the injury. For the same, Purdy confessed, “I’ve heard multiple things, in one scenario I think it would be six months and ready to go…I think in that scenario after three months you can start throwing and getting into a throwing program and get into a routine.”

He also added, “I think six months would be when you’re allowed to go in practice and be a part of everything. That’s the scenario, but I definitely have some other options too, so going to go through these MRI scans and will make a decision, hopefully soon.”

It is hoped that Brock will be fit for training camp in 2023 if surgeons are able to fix his UCL.

When Jimmy Garoppolo suffered an injury in Week 13’s game even against Miami Dolphins, the 23-year-old quarterback for the 49ers was a surprise. Despite completely tearing his ulnar nerve ligaments in the first quarter after being hit by Eagles pass rusher Haason Reddick, the Iowa State star led San Francisco to the NFC championship match against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Purdy had a 67% completion rate for 1,667 yards, 14 touchdowns, and two picks while serving as the 49ers’ franchise quarterback for eight games. He also added two rushing yards to the total. There is a good probability that Purdy will continue to serve as the team’s rookie quarterback to open the 2019 season despite the departure of Jimmy Garoppolo to cap space and the fact that 2021 first-round selection Trey Lance is anticipated to be healthy for the group’s summer program.
