Troy Aikman speaks openly about Tom Brady’s $375,000,000 retirement plan
Tom Brady’s retirement agreement was finalized long before he hung up his cleats. The former NFL quarterback agreed to a 10-year, $375 million contract with FOX to become their primary analyst during games after retiring; his start date was pushed out to 2024 to allow Brady to adjust to life after two decades in the league.
Former FOX and current ESPN commentator Troy Aikman, a Super Bowl-winning quarterback like Tom Brady, shared his thoughts on the seven-time champion’s next job. Brady will be an excellent analyst, according to Aikman, just as he was on the field:
“I think he’ll be fantastic. Tom is one of those men who has excelled at everything he’s attempted, and he works hard, puts in the time, and doesn’t cut corners. The issue is, will he do it? He has every intention of carrying it through. He is observing this year to see what he can learn. If he hasn’t already, I’m sure he’ll be in the trucks or the booths at some of the games, watching. Tom has strong feelings about how the game should be played, and as a quarterback, he doesn’t have much patience for it. It is the reason he was able to have the career he had. I think he’ll provide an honest, unvarnished assessment, and he’ll be great.”
According to Troy Aikman, Tom Brady will be a terrific FOX commentator
Tom Brady enjoyed a 23-year career filled with trophies and honors that cemented him as the best quarterback of all time. Of all, he has won so many championships and been the league’s most popular player for so long that he has amassed an enormous fortune over the years.
He joins a long line of former NFL players who currently appear on NFL broadcasts, including Peyton Manning, Eli Manning, and Greg Olsen. As a former player, he has unique perspectives on what teams should accomplish in many areas of the field.
Plus, he’s the best player of all time, so what he sees on TV must have some validity. Brady, like Tony Romo in 2017, is anticipated to be a game-changer once he begins his new job.
