Harry Kane responds to his achievement
During his interview, Kane stated “It’s quite surreal. Just a magical feeling, to be able to do it here in front of the home fans, to win the game, it’s everything I’ve dreamed about and spoken about over the last few weeks. I wanted to do it in a special place and I was meant to do it in front of these amazing fans.” He added “I’ve been here since I was 11 years old, a lot of hard work, sacrifice, dedication. I remember my first Premier League start, the back end of the old White Hart Lane, scoring against Sunderland. It wasn’t even in my thought to reach this target of goals or reach 200 Premier League goals.”
Additionally, he said “Just a surreal moment and it’s hard to take it all in now. I’m sure when I’m older and looking back at my career it’ll be something I’m extremely proud of. My friends and family are here, it’s a great win.” I think it was hard not to think about [breaking the record when so close to it], I was just trying to focus on each game as it came. ‘It’ll be a special feeling no matter where I do it’. To do it in a big game against a really good side, was an important moment in our season. I’m going to take it all in and look forward to the next one.”
