Top Six Schools That Never Hosted College GameDay

College football fans would wonder about these top six schools that have never really been a host of their favorite ESPN College GameDay show.

ESPN’s popular College Football show, College GameDay has been running since 1993, first ever premiered for Notre Dame-Florida State.

Each week, College GameDay traveled around the country to pick up the school that hosts the show. When a game show has been running this long fans think that almost every school has hosted the GameDay at least once.

Wrong, there are six major schools that have never hosted the College GameDay. Not even once.

According to the Jim Weber report, after Saturday’s selection of the Duke Blue Devils for “GameDay” only these six schools left which never got the chance to host the famous College Football show.

Per Jim Weber, those schools are Cal, Illinois, Maryland, Rutgers, Syracuse, and Virginia.

With 22, Ohio State is the no. 1 host of the GameDay show. Alabama comes next with 17, and Florida, and LSU with 13 in third position.

College Fans also reacted to this surprising fact.

One fan said, “Of those schools, which do you find the most surprising?” a user asked. “I feel like it’s gotta be UVA.”

Another fan was surprised, “I became an obsessed college football fan when I was around 12 years old (early 2000s). I’m surprised GameDay wasn’t at a Cal game in 2004 when Aaron Rodgers was QB. Their biggest game that year was at USC. Maybe that’s why.”

One fan hoped for the Illinois, “Some day, Illini fans. Some day …”

Maybe someday these schools will have the honor to host the beloved College Football show.
