End of An Era (WrestleMania 27 & 28)

WrestleMania 27 & 28 Undertaker v/s Triple H

The Undertaker and Triple H are two legendary wrestlers in WWE with a long history of memorable matches against each other. They have faced each other in many high-profile matches over the years, including WrestleMania 27, and 28. Their matches have always been highly anticipated, as both wrestlers are known for their skills in the ring and their ability to tell a compelling story through their matches. The Undertaker is known for his ominous persona and his signature moves such as the Tombstone Piledriver, while Triple H is known for his technical abilities and his finishing move, the Pedigree.

Triple H wanted to take revenge for his best friend’s loss at WrestleMania 26 by The Undertaker. HHH issued a challenge to fight Taker at WrestleMania 27 where he lost but he was the one who was able to walk out of the ring while Taker suffered the beating of his life and he had to move on a stretcher after his match.

This led Undertaker to return back next year and put his undefeated streak on line again against Triple H at WrestleMania 28. This match was made official when HHH accepted the challenge but he wants it to be under a stipulation of Hell in A Cell. Later on, HHH’s best friend Hbk was added as a special guest referee in the match. This match was promoted as the End of An Era because HHH and Taker have decided that it will be their last time at WrestleMania against each other. The Undertaker won this match and post-match all three of them hugged each other to set their differences apart and be friends forever.

Hounds of Justice (The Shield)

Hounds of Justice The Shield

The Shield was a popular stable in the WWE that consisted of three members: Dean Ambrose (aka, Jon Moxley in AEW), Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns. The stable debuted in November 2012 and quickly made an impact in the WWE. They were known for their unique look, tactical approach to matches, and theme of justice. The Shield remained together until June 2014 when they disbanded after Seth Rollins turned on his fellow members and aligned with The Authority. However, they reunited briefly in 2017 before going their separate ways once again.

During their time as a stable, The Shield won multiple championships in the WWE, including the WWE Tag Team Championships, the WWE United States Championship, and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Their matches against The Wyatt Family, Evolution, The Undertaker, and Kane are among some of their most memorable moments.

KofiMania (The Rise of Kofi Kingston)

Kofi Kingston

On the February 12 episode of SmackDown Live, Kingston was selected to replace Mustafa Ali in the WWE Championship Elimination Chamber match after Ali suffered an injury. While Kingston lost the Elimination Chamber match against Bryan, his good performance during a one-hour gauntlet match at SmackDown and the Elimination Chamber translated into huge support by the WWE Universe. In the following months, Kingston was involved in a storyline during the road to WrestleMania, known as KofiMania, where he tried to win the WWE Championship, but Mr. McMahon put obstacles. At Fastlane, Kingston was apparently granted a title match by McMahon, but it was instead a handicap match against The Bar, which Kingston subsequently lost.

After Fastlane, Mr. McMahon told Kingston he would earn a WWE Championship match at WrestleMania if he beat Sheamus, Cesaro, Rowan, Samoa Joe, and Randy Orton in another gauntlet match, but after Kingston succeeded in beating the five men, McMahon inserted Daniel Bryan in the match who would defeat him. In what was the last chance for Kingston, McMahon announced a gauntlet match for Big E and Xavier Woods, who were able to defeat five other teams, including Bryan and Rowan to give Kingston his championship match against Bryan at WrestleMania 35. At WrestleMania, Kingston defeated Bryan and won the WWE Championship for the first time, becoming the first African-born WWE Champion in history.

Kingston then started a feud with the returning Dolph Ziggler, retaining the title at Super ShowDown in a single match and at Stomping Grounds in a steel cage match. At Extreme Rules, he retained the championship against Samoa Joe, while Big E and Woods won the SmackDown Tag Team Championship for a record-tying fourth time for New Day. On the September 17 episode of SmackDown Live, Brock Lesnar confronted Kingston and challenged him to a championship match on the October 4 episode of SmackDown, which Kingston accepted. At the 20th Anniversary of SmackDown on October 4, Lesnar defeated Kingston in 8 seconds to win the championship, ending Kingston’s reign at 180 days

Undisputed WWE Raw & Smackdown Women’s Champion

At SummerSlam 2018, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair were involved in a triple threat match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship against defending champion Carmella, which Flair won. Afterward, Lynch attacked Flair, ending their friendship. Lynch defeated Flair for the championship at Hell in a Cell 2018 and successfully defended her title against Flair in a Last Woman Standing Match at the inaugural all-women’s PPV Evolution. At Survivor Series 2018, Lynch was originally scheduled to face Raw’s Ronda Rousey in a non-title match, but was replaced by Flair due to a legit injury; during the match, Flair brutally attacked Rousey with weapons. Rousey then interfered in a tables, ladders, and chairs championship match between Lynch, Flair, and Asuka at TLC 2018, costing both Lynch and Flair the match. Lynch failed to regain the title at the Royal Rumble, but won the women’s Royal Rumble match by last eliminating Flair, despite injuring her own knee, and chose to face Rousey for the Raw Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.

Lynch was then suspended for refusing a medical examination of her knee. After getting medically cleared, however, Vince McMahon suspended her again and introduced Flair as Rousey’s WrestleMania opponent. Over the following weeks, Lynch continued to violate her suspension and attacked both Rousey and Flair until the suspension was lifted. At Fastlane, Lynch defeated Flair by disqualification when Rousey attacked Lynch. Per the stipulation, Lynch was added back into the championship match at WrestleMania 35 to make it a triple-threat match. After Flair defeated Asuka for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, the WrestleMania match was made Winner Takes All with both titles on the line. The match was also confirmed as the first-ever women’s match to the main event of WrestleMania.

WrestleMania Undefeated Streak

WrestleMania Undefeated Streak

The Streak was a series of 21 victories for professional wrestler The Undertaker at WWE’s premier annual event, WrestleMania. It began at WrestleMania 07 in 1991 when he beat Jimmy Snuka, with the final win coming against CM Punk at WrestleMania 29 in 2013. The Undertaker was absent from WrestleMania 10 in 1994 and WrestleMania 2000, owing to injury. Overall, he defeated 18 men during the Streak, which included three bouts with Triple H and two each opposite Kane and Shawn Michaels, as well as a handicap match against A-Train and Big Show at WrestleMania 19.

The Streak became the cornerstone of WrestleMania, with a potential win over The Undertaker at the event being described as a greater honor than winning the WWE Championship. For years, the debate had revolved around who, if anybody, should break the Streak, with prominent wrestlers giving comments. At WrestleMania 30 in 2014, The Undertaker lost to Brock Lesnar, thus ending the Streak.
