Tom Brady’s Former Backup Blaine Gabbert Made a Huge Investment in Tampa Mansion a Year Before Signing a $1,310,000 Chiefs Deal

Blaine Gabbert made a name for himself as a backup quarterback to NFL icon Tom Brady while they were both at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But now, he’s taken a big step forward by joining Patrick Mahomes’ Chiefs this season with a deal worth $1,310,000.

What’s interesting is that just a year before switching to the Kansas City Chiefs, Gabbert and his wife Bekah made waves for a different kind of move. They put around $4.1 million into an absolutely stunning mansion by the water on Davis Islands in Tampa.

In a daring move just a year before locking in a sweet $1.31 million deal with the Chiefs, Blaine Gabbert, known for being Tom Brady’s former backup while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, went all out and spent an incredible $4.1 million on a sprawling mansion right by the water on the scenic Davis Islands.

Built in 2013, the house is truly impressive with a whopping 4,127 square feet of living space. According to records from Hillsborough County, as reported by Bizjournals, the purchase was confirmed last year. The records showed that the Gabberts got a substantial $2.66 million mortgage from Cross Country Mortgage LLC.

This luxurious home is the definition of opulence. The Tampa residence features four lavish bedrooms and a grand total of five and a half luxurious bathrooms. Even though he’s making his mark with the Kansas City Chiefs under Patrick Mahomes, Gabbert’s choice to invest in this magnificent home shows his strong connection to Tampa. Plus, this property has played a big part in turning Blaine into a true local superhero.

Blaine Gabbert’s Off-Field Heroics Actions

In December 2022, amidst all the fame and success, Blaine Gabbert showed that he’s more than just a football star – he’s a real-life hero. It turns out, Gabbert ended up right in the middle of a daring rescue mission after a helicopter crashed near his “humble home” in Florida’s Hillsborough Bay. While out jet skiing with his two brothers, Gabbert heard a faint sound that made him want to check it out.

Later in a press conference, Gabbert explained the scenario when he reached the site. What they discovered was a “crew boat in the water that had broken up into four pieces”.  The Tampa Police Department cleared that what Gabbert and his brothers discovered was a crashed helicopter, broken into four pieces, with passengers in need of help. “It looked like they were in duress.” Gabbert stated,

“It was pretty chilly yesterday in the water, so you didn’t want to have them in there for too long. I was in the right place, right time. The credit really goes out to the Tampa PD, fire department, sheriff’s department, because they were there within five seconds. It was pretty remarkable”.

According to Tampa Police, a helicopter lost power, forcing the pilot to make an emergency water landing near the Davis Islands Yacht Club. Thanks to Gabbert’s quick thinking and the fast response from first responders, everything turned out okay. This incident, beyond his accomplishments on the field, showed that Blaine Gabbert is a true hero.
