Rio Ferdinand names 3 players who can reach the level of Mbappe and Haaland
Former Manchester United center-back, Rio Ferdinand has named three young players who he believed can match the level of the best attackers in World football such as Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.
As per the former Red Devil, Bukayo Saka, Marcus Rashford, and Vinicius Jr are the next big names in world football.
What did Rio Ferdinand say?
While in conversation with BT Sport, the pundit said: “He’s on that next rung [below Mbappe and Haaland], isn’t he?
“I think you’ve got him, Rashford I think talking about it, Saka’s coming up on the rails.”
“But this kid, the difference between him and the ones I’ve just mentioned is that he’s done it on this level – Champions League in knockout football and won the Champions League, and been a big part of why they’ve won.”
Talking about Rashford, he has been leading the Red Devils in their resurgence. The forward has scored 26 goals across all competitions as United has won the Prestigious Carabao Cup.
Bukayo Saka on the other hand has inspired Arsenal to put up a title challenge in nearly 20 years. He has been clinical in the Arsenal attack, scoring 10 and assisting nine.
Meanwhile, Vinicius Jr is considered the closest to reaching the elite level. He has been to most prolific winger in the world with 19 goals and 10 assists for Real Madrid this season so far.
