Chelsea extends Thiago Silva’s contract until 2024
It’s official that Thiago Silva has now signed a new deal to extend his stay at Chelsea until 2024.
WHAT HAPPENED?
Chelsea has now made the official announcement that they have renewed the Brazilian center-back’s contract. The Veteran despite his age has been crucial to the Blues’ success in the last couple of years. Now 38, the Brazilian has not slowed down a bit and continues to perform at the highest of levels.

It is Silva’s third season at Stamford Bridge and adding another year will see the defender nearing his 40th birthday. Since arriving in 2020, he has become of the fan favorites for his heroics which led them to Champions League glory. Since then, he has been a regular in the starting line-up providing his experience. He has been favored by both Thomas Tuchel and current manager Graham Potter.

In a statement given to the club’s website, Silva said, “I am honestly so happy to continue my career with the Blues. When I signed my first contract here, it was to just do one year. Now it is already the fourth! I could not have imagined that, but really it is a very special moment for me to sign and stay at Chelsea.”
