The PGA Commissioner Will Reward The Loyalty Of The Players, How? That’s the Question
On Wednesday, Jay Monahan PGA commissioner spokes to Golf Today and said that all the players who turned down the LIV Golf offer and stuck with the PGA Tour will be rewarded.
Monahan said, “Their loyalty will be rewarded,”. He further added “…ultimately, the decision we made, I believe, is going to make it better for all of our players, and loyalty, ultimately, as a leader, always needs to be rewarded.”
The question is How??? When none of those money lucrative offers from LIV golf were offered publicly. There were names of some of the biggest golfers including Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Hideki Matsuyama, who turned down the offer and stayed loyal to the PGA Tour.
Turns out their sacrifice goes west when the two PGA Tour and LIV Golf mergers became official the question remains unanswered.
How the commissioner is going to reward the players when they are not formally invited from the LIV Golf asked Rory “The simple answer is yes. The complex answer is how does that happen,” who called him ‘Sacrificial Lamb’.
However, Monahan does not even know how he is going to solve the problem and said “How that manifests itself is something I’m going to spend a lot of time working on. And I think when we’re having this conversation down the road, that’s something I look forward to being more specific about.”
It’s going to be a long road for Jay Monahan to gain the PGA golfer’s trust again.
