“Taking Nunez off was complete garbage from Klopp”-Jurgen Klopp gets slammed after subbing out two stars to Real Madrid loss
After Liverpool’s disappointing 5-2 loss against Real Madrid, the fans started criticizing the Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp. The club faced a loss in the UEFA Champions League of 16. The Reds rejected the 2-0 lead to surrender five goals at home in Europe’s elite club competition for the very first time.
Klopp’s players were doing well until the 21st minute, including Darwin Nunez’s back heel in the 4th minute. In the 14th minute, Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah capitalized on Los Blancos goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois’ careless move.
Real Madrid’s victory
However, Vinicius Junior made a brilliant strike past Reds shot-stopper Alisson Becker. The celebrated attacker then came to equal in the 36th minute, after his Brazilian counterpart thwarted the ball into him and it reached the empty net.
In the 47th minute, Los Blancos added a third through Eder Militao’s header, and a brace was added by Karim Benzema in the 55th and 67th minute.
Klopp received criticism
Later, Klopp faced criticism for the substitutions, as he decided to take Nunez and Cody Gakpo off. Despite the duo’s impressive performance that night, they were subbed.
Klopp chose to throw Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino into the game, but this pairing failed, Liverpool was going well otherwise. But later, Jurgen Klopp received a lot of negative comments. As one fan said,

Another fan questioned whether the German coach have an answer for the decision he made:
“Klopp gonna hold smoke for his subs etc or can he do no wrong. Seeing a lot of Gomez slander but hardly any Bajcetic, Fabinho, VVD criticism + taking off Nunez and Gakpo for Jota and Firmino lol.”
