Switching Sides: NBA Star Alex Caruso Leaves Anta for Nike Sneakers in Bold Move
Alex Caruso, who is a basketball player for the Chicago Bulls, has decided to switch from wearing shoes made by Anta to those made by Nike, which were created by the late Kobe Bryant.
In the NBA, there are players who aspire to become legendary, and then there are others like Caruso who are focused on getting the best value for their money.
Alex Caruso, who is 29 years old, is known for having an incredible work ethic and a strong sense of purpose when it comes to his role in the NBA. He started out in the G League, which is the NBA’s developmental league, and worked hard to make it to the top. He even won a championship with the Los Angeles Lakers and landed a major sneaker deal with Anta in February of 2021.
It seems that Caruso’s partnership with the Chinese sports apparel brand, Anta, has come to an end after less than two years. Although as recently as December he was still playing in Anta basketball shoes, he has been wearing Nike shoes on the court since January. So, it appears that Caruso has moved on from Anta and is now exclusively wearing Nike sneakers.
Caruso, who is affectionately called “The Bald Mamba,” has decided to wear basketball shoes from Kobe Bryant’s signature line. He previously wore Nike Kobes during his time with the Los Angeles Lakers and has now gone back to his favorite pair of basketball shoes.
Although Caruso had to leave the game on Saturday night due to a foot injury, it wasn’t related to his choice of sneakers. When he’s able to return to the court, sneakerheads will have even more to be excited about as he continues to sport his latest kicks. Here’s everything that fans need to know about Caruso’s choice of basketball shoes.
Caruso wearing Nike Kobe 4 Protro
In the game on Saturday night, Caruso was wearing the ‘Phoenix Suns’ colorway of the Undefeated x Nike Kobe 4 Protro sneakers. These shoes were originally released in August 2019 in limited quantities and sold for $180. Currently, on the sneaker resale website StockX, the average resale price for these shoes is $544.
Nike, Bryant, and Undefeated have a long history of collaborating on unique and rare basketball shoes. In 2018, they collaborated to create a series of four special colorways to celebrate Bryant’s birthday.
The ‘Phoenix Suns’ colorway, which Caruso wore on Saturday night, features a bright orange leather upper with purple detailing that pays tribute to Devin Booker, who is a friend and follower of Bryant. Other colorways from the collection were designed in the colors of the Milwaukee Bucks, San Antonio Spurs, and the Lakers.
Caruso may never make it to the All-Star Game, but he’s become a legend for his ability to understand his role and make the most out of it. We’re eagerly waiting to see him back on the court soon, sporting more shoes from the Nike Kobe line.
