It was a bit bumpy ride for Kevin Durant since he arrived at the Phoenix Suns after a trade with the Brooklyn Nets. His luck is so worse that he only got to play three matches for the team but also suffered an ankle injury in the pregame warmup against the OKC Thunder on March 8.

But here was a piece of good news, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Durant is set to return to the Suns lineup on Wednesday, Mar. 29, at home against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The initial timeline for his recovery was three weeks, but he is expected to play if he doesn’t suffer any setbacks.

“After missing 10 games with a sprained ankle, Phoenix Suns All-NBA star Kevin Durant will make his return Wednesday vs. the Minnesota Timberwolves barring setback, league sources tell”

Durant’s ankle injury occurred when he slipped and turned his ankle during warmups. He went for a layup and stepped into what appeared to be a wet spot. It was another freak accident for Durant, who was recovering from a knee injury when the Suns traded for him.

Despite playing only 3 games for the Suns, Durant has already made a significant impact on the court. He was been averaging an impressive 26.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists while shooting an incredible 69.0% from the field, 53.8% from behind the arc, and 88.2% from the free-throw line.

In the 10 games that Durant missed due to his ankle injury, The Suns went 4-6 W/L ratio, which was a bit of a disappointment for the team. however, they still captured the 4th seed in the Western Conference, with a record of 40-35 W/L ratio. They are currently five games behind the Sacramento Kings 45-30 and just 3.5 games ahead of the 11th-seeded Dallas Mavericks 37-39.

As the Suns prepare for their next game with Durant back in the starting lineup, they will undoubtedly be looking to improve their record and make a strong push toward the playoffs. With Durant’s incredible talent and his ability to make a difference on the court, there’s no doubt that he will be a significant asset to the team as they strive toward their goals.
