Stunning Photos of Dharamshala Cricket Stadium Take Internet by Storm”
On Tuesday, the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared stunning photos of the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) in Dharamshala. These pictures were taken during the Netherlands-South Africa match, where the Netherlands achieved their first-ever World Cup victory against a Test nation. The images capture the breathtaking snow-covered mountains in the background, adding to the charm of the match.
The ICC captioned the post, calling the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala “breathtaking.” Since being posted, these photos received over 900,000 likes and numerous comments from amazed fans. One user described it as the world’s most beautiful stadium, while another jokingly said it’s the only stadium where fans buy tickets to capture the view outside, not inside.
People were in awe of the scenic beauty, with one user commenting that words couldn’t describe the view, and another comparing the experience to a 3D cinematic marvel.
As for the match, the Netherlands surprised everyone by defeating South Africa by 38 runs in a rain-shortened 43-over contest. Dutch Skipper Scott Edwards played a crucial role with an unbeaten 78, leading his team to a total of 245-8. They then bowled out South Africa for 207, securing only their third ODI World Cup victory, 16 years since their last win against Scotland in the West Indies.
This unexpected win followed Afghanistan’s surprising victory over defending champions England in Delhi, adding to the unpredictability of the 10-team competition. The excitement of the World Cup continues with the next match scheduled at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on the 18th of this month, where New Zealand will face Afghanistan at 2 pm IST (8.30 am GMT).
