Streamers Hasan Piker and Valkyrae said they are not playing Hogwarts Legacy added with “ it’s not worth it to get f**king bullied endlessly:
Hogwarts Legacy one of the most awaited games has finally been released today. On one side where so many gamers are excited to play and experience this game, there are some streamers and community members who are boycotting the game, and the estimated reason is its association with J.K. Rowling.
Hasan Piker and Valkyrae are two of the streamers who denied to play this game because the author of one of the best novels “Harry Potter” has been a controversial figure since 2020 after a public comment she made that was widely deemed as “transphobic”. And this thing made gamers, the fanbase, boycott the game.
In 2020, when the world was fighting COVID-19, the well-known British Author of the wizarding world, J.K. Rowling, was having a tough time convincing the LGBTQ community of her viewpoint on “menstruation”. Well, this is a piece of old news but the wounds are still green.
Though there are streamers who are playing the game with the same enthusiasm, the famous ones are sidelining themselves to not hurt their fanbase. One name on this list is Valkyrae, in her opinion, this is not a worthy game to play. She said she would rather enjoy watching others playing the game.
She added “I think I’m going to just watch my friends play it. I don’t think it’s worth it. Personally, in my own opinion, I don’t think it’s worth it. I feel like I have a large audience and I want to be careful. I don’t want to like, hurt anybody.”
Hasan Piker is also on the list. He has a huge fanbase and He too doesn’t wanna hurt anyone’s sentiments. He stated that “I personally don’t give a sh*t about that and I think it’s so silly. I don’t think people are going to genuinely be able to make the consumer side like a boycott on a game like this, The only reason why I’m not playing this game and I know a bunch of other people are not playing this game. Is because we know that it’s not worth it to get f***king bullied endlessly and called transphobic endlessly when we have massive queer communities and audiences. That’s it.
