Steve Kerr opens up about Gary Payton II’s trade
Though the Golden State Warriors were looking for immediate help when they made a trade for Gary Payton II. But now, they don’t have any clue when Payton II will actually play.
Steve Kerr’s frustration about the trade
This infamous trade led to Steve Kerr’s frustration. He opened up about his feelings on 95.7 The Game. Steve said:
“We needed immediate help, we needed a boost at the deadline and that was one of the reasons for the deal. Finding out he was gonna be out for a while was frustrating. But that’s the way it goes. That’s what it is. We gotta find a way to keep moving forward and hopefully get him back at the end of the year.”
It is expected that Golden State Warriors are expected to re-examine Payton in a month. But this re-evaluation doesn’t mean that they don’t need help now.
The team is already lacking major players like Steph Curry and is heading into the All-Star break with 29-29. The only team that needs to calculate how they use the buyout market. The Warriors just need to play smart here, as players are willing to play with Steph Curry and compete for a championship.
The Warriors just need to wait for a while now until the help comes.
