Stephen A. Smith would part with his hair if the Knicks clinch the NBA championship

Stephen A. Smith is among the most ardent and devoted supporters of the New York Knicks. He has been a dedicated supporter of his native side for more than fifty years.
The sports expert was only six years old the previous time the Knicks were the NBA champions. Few people are more passionate about the series, as mentioned above, than the presenter of First Take.
Sadly, since the late 1990s, Smith and Knicks supporters haven’t had many reasons to rejoice. Only seven times between 2000–01 and 2022–23 did New York make it to the playoffs, and thrice of those appearances came in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Stephen A. Smith was asked what he would do if the Knicks surprised everyone in the basketball world by winning the NBA title during an interview on his podcast. The Bronx, New York native responded:
“How about if I shaved my head completely bald? That George Jefferson look is something I have been clinging to for dear life. If they were to win a title, I may overlook that.
In 1970 and 1973, the New York Knicks took home the title. In the 1980s, they were a constant postseason challenger because of Patrick Ewing. Thirteen times in Ewing’s fifteen-year tenure in New York, the Knicks advanced to the postseason.
The Knicks could have had a greater chance of winning the title if it weren’t for Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls defeated them five times in the playoffs between 1989 and 1996. In 1994, Ewing’s Knicks made it to the NBA Finals without “His Airness,” but Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets defeated them in seven games.
Stephen A. Smith remembers the eighth-seeded New York Knicks from their 1999 NBA Finals run with much affection.
The Twin Tower duo of David Robinson and Tim Duncan led the San Antonio Spurs to a five-game loss. Since then, Smith and Knicks supporters have had to endure a difficult 20 years.
The Boston Celtics are favored to win the NBA title in 2023–2024, according to Stephen A. Smith.
Last season, the sixth-seeded New York Knicks made it to the postseason and stunned the third-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers. But the Miami Heat, led by Jimmy Butler, also caused them to lose.
Stephen A. Smith has already selected his favorite to win the Eastern Conference for the 2023–24 campaign. But he didn’t even bring up the Knicks.
There is little to talk about in this case. The Boston Celtics are my pick to win the Eastern Conference, even with my brother Damian Lillard, a closer and the best sharpshooter in the NBA.
“The Boston Celtics are without a doubt the team to beat in the Eastern Conference, if not the whole NBA, ladies and gents.
Smith said, “The Celtics, as drafted, will be the favorites to win against the Denver Nuggets, the reigning champions, and the Los Angeles Lakers, led by LeBron James.” The Phoenix Suns may provide a hiccup for Boston.
However, the veteran TV sports talk show presenter believes that the Celtics would never, if ever, lose to the Suns led by Bradley Beal, Devin Booker, and Kevin Durant.
Stephen A. Smith doesn’t need to give up his George Jefferson appearance. While he waits for the New York Knicks to win another title, he could grow completely bald.
