Steph Curry and his Golden boy crushed Pelicans: The Magic of Steph Curry is back
The Golden State Warriors had a rocky start in their game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Tuesday night at the Chase Center. For the first 24 minutes, they looks like a broken team, trailing by 17 points by the halftime. But in the second half, something clicked and they transformed into a completely different team, clear out their slippage and securing a 120-109 win.
It was an incredible comeback by the team, and the last 24 minutes was all about the Warriors’ star players Steph Curry, Draymond Green, Jordan Poole, and Klay Thompson. They stepped up when it needed most and carried the team for a much-needed victory in the highly competitive Western Conference playoff race.
Steph Curry, the Warriors’ MVP and CAP, was especially outstanding in the second half. He finished the game with a stunning 39 points, with 22 of those coming in the second half. He also contributed 8 assists and 8 rebounds, showing why he was considered one of the best players in the league.
Draymond Green was also instrumental in the Warriors victory, providing a much-needed spark in the first half when the team was struggling very much. Despite picking up a Flagrant 1 foul, his 17th technical foul, and five total fouls, Green showed why he’s a crucial part of the teamand he was a defender of the year in the last season of NBA, He ended the game with eight points, 13 assists, 6 rebounds, and a game-high plus-26.
“We know what time of the season it is and we’ve faced a lot of adversity all year,” Curry told Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Festus Ezeli on “Warriors Postgame Live” immediately after the game. “Even in this first half, it was nothing going your way. Had some self-inflicted wounds, so the one thing we have, Draymond’s fire in the first half is the ultimate testament and visual of what it is we have a competitive spirit that is unmatched. And it’s been that way for a decade.
“So for us to tap into that, we understand that we have to play better, more consistent. We’ve got to figure out our rotations and stuff. But that belief and killer instinct — the three guys standing on this court, myself, Draymond, Klay — we’ve done it. We know it and our guys are starting to figure it out.”
The win was especially important for the Warriors after their expensive loss against the Timberwolves on Sunday night. With this victory, they’re now back in the 6th seed in the western confrence, half a game ahead of Minnesota and one-and-a-half games ahead of New Orleans.
It’s clear that the deffending title holder Warriors success is due in part to the thick skin they were developed over the last decade. they were faced their fair share of bad luck, but they were learned how to come together as a team and overcome challenges, However, the Golden boys are thinking to make in the playoffs to defend their tilte.
