And, since this new update was released in the market players have a question in mind about the gender clarification of this new character. In this article, I am going to clarify all the doubts in your mind. So, Stay Tuned and Read Till End.
Introduction to Catalyst
Catalyst character was launched in the game last year (November 2022) and since then, it has become a topic of discussion among the FanArmy of Apex Legends ‘Is the character transgender?’.
Catalyst is Transgender in Apex Legends
It is confirmed by Respawn’s developer team on social media that the Catalyst character is the first binary transgender woman character in the game. But, overall the first transgender character in the game was Bloodhound (a non-binary character).
To give it a more real and authentic look, the team hired ‘Meli Grant’ (Transgender) to give a voice to the Catalyst character. Also, Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (Glaad)’s associate director of gaming Blair Durkee said in an interview with GamesRadar. “I think players will be pleasantly surprised that her trans identity sort of shines through in every aspect. And that’s something that distinguishes her from some other trans characters that have come before – it’s not just a footnote in her bio that players will read once and then never think about again.”
