Iconic singer Jimmy Buffett who sang ‘Margaritaville’ and ‘Fins’ like popular songs died at the age of 76, leaving billion dollar fortune behind.

Jimmy Buffet was one of the richest musicians in the industry and his net worth was said to be 1 billion dollars at the time of his death.

On Friday, Buffet’s official website and social media pages revealed the news of the beloved musician’s passing. The statement reads, “Jimmy passed away peacefully on the night of September 1st surrounded by his family, friends, music and dogs. He lived his life like a song till the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many.”

Buffet’s songs and music touched millions of people’s hearts across the globe. After hearing the news fans expressed their grief on social media including the sports world.

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt posted on his Twitter,

“Instantly think of a Buffett show at Merriweather long ago and the fun of the entire spectacle. What a thing to have left a trail of smiles in and out of every port he sailed. Hell of a life.”
