Shaquille O’Neal questions LeBron James’ best no.1 pick status in latest post
Shaquille O’Neal was chosen first overall by the Orlando Magic in the 1992 NBA draft. He is largely regarded as one of the finest players to go first. Surprisingly, the Lakers legend isn’t thrilled with an Instagram list of the NBA’s 10 greatest No. 1 choices.
“Thoughts I say hell naw,” O’Neal said.
O’Neal came in fifth place on the list. Tim Duncan was fourth, Magic Johnson was third, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was second, and LeBron James was first.
For his amazing athleticism and flexible playing style, James was one of the most eagerly awaited talents entering the league before the 2003 NBA draft.
LeBron James, who is about to start his 21st season, has established an outstanding history for himself, as have many of the other giants on the list.
Regardless, Shaquille O’Neal believes his resume has something to say about being classified as merely the fifth best No. 1 choice.
Shaquille O’Neal was “jealous” of LeBron James’ achievement of becoming the NBA’s all-time top scorer
According to the “I Am Athlete” podcast, Shaquille O’Neal stated that he was “jealous” when LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the league’s all-time top scorer.
“I say it all the time,” remarked O’Neal. “At the time, it was professional jealousy.” I wish it were me. I know exactly what I would have done. ‘Me, I’m the best.’ Bron is someone I know. He’s a good, humble, corporate man. So that’s something I’m proud of. But I enjoy hearing the (GOAT) debates.”
Shaquille O’Neal, on the other hand, stated that it was merely “professional jealousy” and nothing more.
