Shadows of Doubt is to launch an Early Access version in April
Shadows of Doubt, an exciting sci-fi detective RPG developed by ColePowered Games and published by Fireshine Games, will be released in Early Access on April 24th, 2023. The game will be available on PC via Steam, with no confirmation on other platforms yet.
A Game with Astonishing Breadth of Mechanics
Shadows of Doubt boasts an incredible range of mechanics that could each stand alone as a game in the indie scene. In the latest trailer, the game features some of its fundamental mechanics, such as stealth and investigation. The game’s art design and mood are also highlighted, with a blend of traditional noir imagery and Minecraft’s blocky simplicity, resulting in a unique atmosphere that is both dark and tense.
A Fully Simulated Sandbox City
The simplicity of the game allowed it to pursue a fully simulated sandbox city, which is a notable feature on its official Steam page. The game world feels more expansive, detailed, and alive than most AAA games, thanks to the environment and the independence of the characters that populate it.
A Balanced and Free-Form Story
Shadows of Doubt offers players remarkable freedom to investigate the story as they see fit, choosing which evidence to seek out and what rules to break. The sandbox setting is balanced by the fact that characters will continue to go about their business, giving players a strong sense of urgency and consequence. The game promises to appeal to fans of all its featured genres, including sci-fi, with just the right amount of flashiness that doesn’t compromise the game’s tone.
Get Ready to Enter the Shadows
Shadows of Doubt’s Early Access release is highly anticipated, with its incredible breadth of mechanics and unique art design. Fans of sci-fi, detective games, and sandbox games alike will find something to love in this upcoming release. Don’t forget to mark your calendar for April 24th, 2023, and prepare to enter the shadows.
