Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, promises to cure Glioblastoma ‘in his lifetime’ as he recalls the ‘monster that stole his mother’

Serena Williams’ boyfriend, Alexis Ohanian, has made a solemn pledge to find a cure for Glioblastoma, an incurable brain disease that cruelly took his mother’s life.

Glioblastoma is one of the most frequent kinds of brain cancer, with a 5-year survival rate of less than 5%. Only one person has been healed of this horrific sickness yet.

Serena Williams’ boyfriend has worked hard to establish himself in the field of Internet business. Alexis Ohanian’s mother, Anke Ohanian, was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in the summer of 2005, shortly after setting sail with his firm “Reddit,” and she died three years later in 2008.

On World Mental Day (October 10), Alexis Ohanian spoke on Twitter about his heartbreaking experience of losing his mother to an incurable brain illness. He vowed to find a cure for it in his lifetime.

“GBM, This is the monster that took my mom. I’m going to see to it that we cure it in my lifetime”, he tweeted.

In the midst of the 2020 pandemic, Alexis Ohanian delivered a virtual graduation address to Johns Hopkins grads, relying on his mother’s cancer battle.

“I hope you can learn from my mistakes and failures, whether it’s saying “Mm-mmm” or not giving my mom an extra hug on graduation day.” This viewpoint is priceless, and that is its curse. I mean, I don’t have a lot of life experience yet—I’m just 19… 38? No… 37? I’m not sure. 37—I do know, though, because of events that occurred in the final decade of my life, how significant these individuals are.”

He also extended his thanks to the hospital, saying:

“And actually, I’ll always be grateful to Johns Hopkins hospital. They actually spent a lot of time treating my mom when she was diagnosed with stage four glioblastoma brain cancer. And I know that she got extra months, if not years, of her life because of the work of doctors, nurses, and health workers in your hospital system. And I will always, always be grateful for that”.

Serena Williams’ husband has also invested in Nucleus Genomics, a New York-based firm aiming to establish a DTC genetic testing platform that would give genetic risk and disposition score analysis on a variety of diseases.

Serena Williams’ husband is a devoted parent to their child.

Serena Williams’ husband, Alexis Ohanian, recently mentioned his potential AI enterprise.

Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian have both shared candid and priceless moments with their children on social media. The online entrepreneur likes talking about his daughter Olympia’s hobbies and having fun conversations.

Alexis Ohanian recently spoke on AI’s limitless potential. Humans may be able to communicate with dolphins in five years, according to the 40-year-old entrepreneur. To avoid disappointing Olympia, the Reddit co-founder intends to fund the development of such an AI.

“Crazy bet: I think we’ll be able to communicate with dolphins thanks to AI in the next 5 years. I told @OlympiaOhanian this, and now I’m going to have to fund one of these companies to make sure I don’t let her down.” Ohanian posted.
