Serena Williams’ ex-coach is in awe of ex-footballer and wife Victoria following the publication of a Netflix docuseries about her
Rennae Stubbs, Serena Williams’ former coach, has spoken out about the recently released documentary series centered on English football legend David Beckham.
The four-part docuseries has already gotten a lot of buzz on social media. ‘Beckham’ follows David Beckham on his path from his early days at Waltham Forest Under 12s to becoming an internationally recognized football player.
Studio 99, Beckham’s media firm, co-produced the documentary directed by Fisher Stevens.
Rennae Stubbs, the former World No. 1 in doubles, recently turned to social media to express her gratitude for the mini-documentary series. She described how viewing it makes it difficult not to love David and Victoria Beckham. Stubbs has also indicated that she would like David Beckham to cook and clean for her.
“There is something wrong with you if you don’t love David and Victoria Beckham after watching this documentary!” Also, I’d like David to cook (and clean) for me!!! He’s incredible!!” Rennae Stubbs stated on Twitter that she was retweeting Victoria Beckham’s message.
Meanwhile, Victoria’s status update stated:
“I couldn’t be more proud of you and “us” #DavidBeckham!! I adore you!! I can’t wait for you to watch #BECKHAM, which is now available on @netflix! The VB white tuxedo will be available shortly! xx Kisses.”
David Beckham also spoke to Reuters about his motivations for participating in the initiative.
“I felt it was the right thing to do and the right time, actually, and also I wanted something for my family to look back on and to really enjoy,” Beckham told ESPN.”When I began my career in Manchester in the 1990s… there was wonderful music and amazing situations to be around, and Manchester United was one of the most successful teams in football… It reminds you of something extremely special, and I hope others see this and feel special, as well as remember wonderful times,” he continued.
