See what the NFL decided on Patrick’s Mahomes Hit!
The Cincinnati Bengals lost the AFC Championship Game after defensive end Joseph Ossai hit Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes out of bounds. The crucial 15-yard penalty aided the Chiefs in an easy win after Harrison Butker kicked off the final field goal with three seconds remaining.
The interesting fact to note down here is, during the third quarter NFL fined 49ers player Talanoa Hufanga, a big amount of $4,916 Penalty for hitting out at Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts. The case is not the same here. According to NFL insider Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk, the NFL has decided that the league will not give a fine to Joseph Ossai for his late hit on Mahomes.
Fans offer mixed reactions to this. “I’ve just got to learn from experience,” Ossai said postgame. “I’ve got to know not to get close to that quarterback when he’s close to that sideline if there’s anything that could possibly cause a penalty. In a situation like that, I’ve got to be better.”
Ossai, 22, did face quite a lot of criticism on one hand, while support on the other. Let us know what you think.
