SEC Network Faces Backlash for Major Mistake in Schedule Release
The SEC Network, known for its coverage of Southeastern Conference sports, is receiving a lot of criticism for a big blunder they made during the announcement of the 2024 football schedule.
This year’s schedule is highly anticipated because Texas and Oklahoma will be joining the conference, and fans were eager to see who these new teams would be playing.
During the schedule reveals on the SEC Network, a graphic was shown displaying the non-conference opponents for SEC teams in 2024. Everything seemed fine until it was noticed that the network had made a huge mistake. Instead of using the correct logo for Oklahoma, they mistakenly used the logo of Ole Miss, a different team in the conference.
This mistake caused confusion and frustration among fans. Seeing the letter “O” next to Oklahoma’s name with the Ole Miss logo made people think that Ole Miss was the team being referred to. This blunder made Oklahoma feel like they were being treated as outsiders, especially since they had been a part of the Big 12 for almost 30 years before joining the SEC.
