Seattle Seahawks Sign Jarran Reed to Two-Year Deal
Seattle Seahawks fans have reason to celebrate as the team has brought back defensive tackle Jarran Reed. According to reports from NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, Reed has signed a two-year deal with a maximum value of $10.8 million.
Reed was originally picked by the Seahawks in the second round of the 2016 draft and spent five seasons with the team. During this time, he recorded an impressive 22 sacks in 63 starts.
Interestingly, this is not the first two-year contract that Reed has signed with the Seahawks. The team had extended him a two-year, $23 million deal just last offseason.
Unfortunately, Reed was cut by the Seahawks in 2021 and joined the Kansas City Chiefs for a season, where he started in 17 games and made 2.5 sacks. He then went on to play for the Green Bay Packers, where he also made 2.5 sacks.
Now 30 years old, Reed is returning to the Seahawks and will work alongside Dre’Mont Jones. The Seahawks have made room for Reed’s return by parting ways with Shelby Harris and Quinton Jefferson. This reunion should provide a much-needed boost to the Seahawks defensive line, which is great news for fans.
