Saudi Chief comments on the reunion of Ronaldo and Messi in the same league
While Lionel Messi is in the final months of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, he has aroused the interest of many other teams.
Most of the Saudi Arabian teams have shown their interest in taking him in, including Al Ittihad and Al Hilal.
It was reported that Al-Hilal has even put forward a huge amount of £245 million per year.
With Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, many are looking forward to the reunion of the duo, with Messi signing a contract in the Gulf State.
What did the SAFF General Secretary say?
Ibrahim Alkassim, the Saudi Arabian football chief, has minimized all such hopes. He spoke to MARCA:
“At the moment we do not know anything about a possible Lionel Messi arrival, although I do not hide that, as Saudi Federation, we would like to have him one day in the domestic league.”
“The idea of the Federation is always to improve our football, and of course, we would like to see Cristiano and Messi in the same league again, but the truth is that we don’t know anything now.”
The Saudi Arabian Chief seems interested to see Messi and Ronaldo play in the same league, but he is not sure about the possibility of the duo playing together again.
Ronaldo and Messi form the best duo; they have been seen embracing each other before their last match. Messi was also captured looking at Ronaldo blissfully. It would be a moment if they reunited in the same league.
For now, Messi’s main aim is to win another Champions League trophy after Argentina’s World Cup success.
