Salah becomes Liverpool’s All-time leading Premier League scorer
Mohamed Salah becomes Liverpool’s record goal scorer in the Premier League
Mohamed Salah scored a brace against rivals Manchester United in a 7-0 thrashing at Anfield. Those two goals put him ahead of Robbie Fowler as Liverpool’s record goal scorer in the Premier League.
Salah was not alone on the day as Nunez and Gakpo netted two goals each with Firmino scoring the seventh to add to the exploits.
Salah’s tally stands at 131 goals in 218 appearances in the English top flight.
The Egyptian has been one of the most clinical players in the Premier League ever since he joined the Reds in 2017. During his time, he has won three Golden Boot awards and even broke the record for most goals in a single Premier League season with 38 goals in 2018.
How did Salah react?
While in conversation with Sky Sports, he said, “It’s very special, I can’t lie.”
“This record was in my mind since I came here, I think after my first year I was always chasing that record, so to break it today, against United, with that result, was unbelievable. So I’m going home to celebrate with the family, have a camomile tea, and sleep!”
