Sage Steele Reveals Going Back To ESPN After Suspension

This week, longtime NFL host Sage Steele decided to leave her 17 years of career behind and left ESPN. Sage opened up about how was it going back to ESPN after her suspension.

Sage took the decision after her suspension for criticizing the company’s COVID-19 policy during an appearance on Jay Cutler’s podcast in September 2021.

On Thursday while appearing on “The Megyn Kelly Show”, Steele described how was life at work after her suspension. Steele revealed it was hard to back and work like nothing happened when you believe everyone hates you.

Via Awfulannouncing, Steele told Kelly,

“I was mad, but more than anything, I was devastated because I had been such a good soldier, such a good employee for 17 years, and proud of it. I was scared to go back to work when I got off of my suspension.”

Steele said she was scared to go back and work like she used to.

“I was so scared. Because I had been made to believe that everybody hated me. And you don’t just walk back in and work, you walk back in and you have to perform on live national television in front of millions of people.”

Sage revealed that her lawyers pointed out the situation suing her employer while she was still working for them.

Steele told Kelly,

“That’s what I’m most proud of, is that I was able to compartmentalize much better than I ever dreamt. And to have this ongoing for 22 months, from the beginning, from when I was first punished, to Monday,”

She continued, “I went back in there and I stood tall and had great conversations with producers and was passionate about every single interview, every single segment. You can ask them. It’s just what I’ve done my whole life. Why am I going to stop just because there’s this other crap going on, as wrong as it might be? But I walked in there every day, and I did it.”

After her official statement she posted on Twitter, fans supported her with her inspiring stories. Fans keep posting on #steelestrong comments and make assumptions about why she left her longtime career at ESPN. Until she reposted the OutKick post and cleared the air on her decision about ESPN.
