Russell Wilson and Ciara Bring Joy to Inmates During a Surprise Prison Visit
Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson and his wife Ciara recently made a surprise visit to the Everglades Correctional Institution in Florida to bring some cheer to over 300 inmates. The couple, known for their philanthropic efforts, was invited by the organization “God Behind Bars” to lead a prayer with the incarcerated men.
During the visit, Wilson read a bible verse to the group before Ciara performed a song, and the couple also sang and danced with the inmates. The emotional visit seemed to have left an impact on the couple, with Ciara reportedly moved to tears.
This isn’t the first time Wilson has given back to the community, as he has made it a point to use his platform to help those who are less fortunate. While he is set to spend much of his offseason analyzing his performance with the Denver Broncos in the 2022 NFL Season, Wilson took time out of his busy schedule to visit the prison and spread some positivity.
The Everglades Correctional Institution expressed its gratitude to Wilson and Ciara, stating that the visit was “powerful” and left a positive impact on the inmates. With his focus now shifting back to football, Wilson will be hoping to make some changes from his rough 2022 campaign. But for the inmates at the Everglades Correctional Institution, the visit from Wilson and Ciara will surely be a memorable one.
