Rumors: LA Sources believe that Darvin Ham overplayed an injured LeBron James
After the Los Angeles Lakers defeat to the Portland Trail Blazers, which is the fourth loss of the team in the last five games, the fans have started questioning Darvin Ham.
Fans are questioning Ham regarding LeBron James’ extension. He has already missed the last week due to an injury. It seems like James overplayed even when he was injured, giving him some serious injury issues.
Brian Windhorst and the Hoop Collective Podcast
In ESPN’s Brian Windhorst & Hoop Collective Podcast, Dave McMenamin, an LA insider, shared how the Lakers’ coach Ham used James for the club, giving him big playing minutes which has him more hurt than ever.
McMenamin told Brian Windhorst,
“Last weekend, it was the third time on that road trip I believe that he played 40+ minutes. Now two of them were overtime games, but still. 38 years old, 20th season, 40+ minutes on the regular. Some of the people I speak to around the team, let’s put it that way, were like, ‘What are we doing here, playing him 40 minutes again?‘We’re going to run him into the ground?’ And it’s not the minutes necessarily. It’s the minutes while a player is dealing with something that’s been pervasive.”
“It’s his left foot. The team is terming it a ‘left ankle injury,’ but to me, what I’ve seen, the modalities and having someone from the staff work on it, it appears to be his foot more so than the ankle.”
This revelation could heat up the situation as there was another report by Chris Haynes which indicated LeBron James’ injury could affect his 2022-23 season.
James’ injury can only be judged when he will play his next game.
