Rumor: Kyrie Irving’s future with the Dallas Mavericks gets an update from Wojnarowski
Kyrie Irving’s trade to the Dallas Mavericks from the Brooklyn Nets gave rise to thinking that Irving would not stay with the Mavericks past this season. Many believe that Dallas was getting desperate for a title.
But ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski has something else to say. He said that the probability of Irving staying with Dallas is definitely open for discussion.
“I think it’s more likely than not Kyrie Irving stays in Dallas. Just because of what they invested in him. And his chance to get the kind of contract he wants… I think given of what they gave up and Dallas’ track record of being willing to pay players who want to be there. I think it’s more likely than not Kyrie Irving is in Dallas. Of course, it can all change. I do think [the Lakers] traded for Russell with the idea they’ll go forward with him on a new deal.”
Potential Spots for Kyrie Irving
Woj mentioned that among the potential spots for Irving comes the Phoenix Suns, in case he decides to leave the Mavs. Though the Los Angeles Lakers were also among the favorites to trade for Irving.
Talking about the ties that people think Irving is leaving Mavericks, there are other ties too. The LA Lakers have LeBron James who has ties to Irving. Also, the Phoenix Suns have Kevin Durant who was with him in the Brooklyn Nets.
