The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly traded one of their players and taken one in. On Monday, the trade was made official on the Lakers’ social media. The trade is of Rui Hachimaru to the Lakers and Kendrick Nunn to the Washington Wizards.

The Lakers were in the trade talks when they were finding a new home for the point guard Russell Westbrook. Now, it is Nunn who is traded to the Wizards. Hachimaru, the fourth-year forward, entered the Lakers’ fold in exchange for Kendrick Nunn

Hachimaru averaged 13 points and 4.3 rebounds. On Saturday, he scored a season-high 30 points against the Orlando Magic.

He was picked ninth overall in 2019 and missed most of the last season due to injuries and personal reasons. Washington had no development plans for him. He could not meet the expectations of the Wizards and find his place on the team. He was dubious of being traded, as he told the reporters, “I just want to be somewhere that wants me as a basketball player, and I want to be somewhere that likes my game.”

Reporter: “Is a trade something you want?”

Rui Hachimura: “I don’t know.”

Reporter: “Did you ask for a trade?”

Rui: “No comment.”

But now the Lakers are in the picture, and we need to see how this player fits in well with the organization. Social media is full of comments and questions about the team and the player.
