Ronaldo speaks up on Manchester United exit
Cristiano Ronaldo reflects on him leaving the toxicity at Old Trafford
Cristiano Ronaldo ended his Manchester United spell midway the season. It was after a controversial interview with Piers Morgan during which the Portuguese slammed the club and it’s authority. Thus, next time we saw Ronaldo, he was playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
Ronaldo criticized the owners and manager Erik Ten Hag for putting him out of the starting eleven. Fortunately, there wasn’t much fuss about the incident since it happened just before the World Cup. Moreover, the matter was resolved quickly and easily with Ronaldo’s contract at Manchester United being mutually terminated.
The 38-year-old spoke for the first time since his release from Old Trafford. In a press conference on Wednesday, Ronaldo admits that his departure from Manchester United was necessary for his personal growth.
What did Ronaldo have to say?
In a conference prior to Portugal’s qualifiers, the striker said, “Sometimes, you have to go through some things to see who is on my side. I have no problem saying, I had a bad career run, but there’s no time for regrets. Life goes on and, doing well or not, it was part of my growth.”
“When we are at the top of the mountain, we often cannot see what is below. Now, I’m more prepared and learning that was important, because I had never been through this, like in the last few months. Now I’m a better man.”
